First the Good News

I have some good news and some bad news.

First, two pieces of  good news.

I have been invited by Ohio PFLAG to be one of the speakers at their annual conference on April 14, 2012, in Lima, Ohio. They asked me to speak on the intersection of faith communities and the LGBT community. Additionally, I will be visiting three monthly PFLAG meetings to share.

Itinerary:

    • Tuesday 4/10  Dayton, OH
    • Thurs 4/12  Abingdon, VA
    • Saturday 4/14  Lima, OH
    • Sunday 4/15  Saginaw, MI

If you live near Lima, Dayton, Abingdon, or Saginaw, think about dropping in!

The second piece of good news: I’m helping to form an LGBT alumni association for one of my alma maters. Part of the project includes launching the association blogsite.

Now for the bad news.

Because of all this preparation, I’ll be taking a four-week hiatus from posting here. I don’t want to, but I get soo absorbed by projects and posting.  I may, of course, post something akin to an update.

About Ron Goetz

My first wife used to say, "There's nothing so sacred that Ron won't pick it apart." My desire to be a pastor -- that was a temperamental mismatch. She was so patient. If my birth mother had lived somewhere else, maybe I would've become a cold case detective. But I would have had to be J instead of a P, I think. And that mid-life reevaluation, starting adolescence as a GARB fundamentalist and transitioning to a non-theist, that gave me an unusual skill set.
