Cover Design: I’d Like Your Opinion

I’m choosing a typeface for the cover, and I’d like your input on some options. You can see I prefer serif fonts, but I’ve included one san serif. Some of the fonts are very similar, of course, but there are some textural differences.

I know, what’s inside is more important than what’s outside. I’ve been working on the content for years. But something has to go on the cover, right?

So–A, B, C, D, or E?

Any other comments?

  3. I prefer A, but I wonder if a combination of fonts would work? For instance, setting the title with example A and the author’s name with example C.

I like A. I do not like C. But there is something very appealing about D

As a former Graphic Artist and now a figurative oil painting portrait artist, without question it should be “B”.

  8. Ron, I used ‘Papyrus’ a few years ago for a book of poetry (I think that’s the font in ‘D’) – I liked it because I saw my book as something of an artifact, the contents being uncovered after many years…so I like ‘D’, but it’s definitely unconventional.
